Nancy L. Baker

Nancy Baker received the B.S. degree in atmospheric sciences from Oregon State University, Corvallis, in 1981, the M.S. degree in atmospheric sciences from the University of Washington, Seattle, in 1985, and the Ph.D. degree in meteorology from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA, in 2000. Since 1985, she has been with the Naval Research Laboratory, Monterey, where she is currently the Head of the Data Assimilation Section which is responsible for the development of the assimilation system (NAVDAS) in the U.S. Navy's global and regional numerical weather prediction models. Dr. Baker is currently the Technical Liaison for the U.S. Navy to the Joint Center for Satellite Data Assimilation. She was a corecipient of the NRL Allan Berman Research Publication Award in 2000 and 2004, respectively.
