Career Trajectory
Bio
My PhD in materials engineering combines my traditionally trained experimental background with contemporary data science tools to design, discover, and develop materials of the future.
With shape memory alloys of Nickel-Titanium for refrigeration and thermal energy storage applications, I made >2500 formulations. I characterized them using high-throughput techniques and processed the many large datasets using unsupervised machine learning and data visualization methods. This allowed me to find trends in signatures - both known and previously unidentified - for formulations with optimal properties.
I hope to use this training and knowledge to expand renewable-energy-based public transit in the US and sustainable technologies globally.
I have a BSc in Chemistry and Biology from Houston Baptist University. I am also an experienced mentor with a demonstrated history of integrating science with outreach.
