I am conducting (1) basic research to dissect mechanisms by which key toxins contribute to pathophysiology of Staphylococcus aureus septic shock and Pseudomonas aeruginosa ventilator-associated pneumonia, and (2) translational research to develop and evaluate novel therapeutic approaches using state-of-art experimental intensive care unit rabbit models.
