My interests include the chemical characterization of particulate matter in ambient air and in the emissions from different sources. I use this chemical speciation together with receptor modeling techniques such as the Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF) to estimate PM’s source apportionment and, thus, recommend effective air quality policy measures. I'm also interested in the exposure of people to air pollutants in different microenvironments, and the estimation on emissions inventories.
