Bio
Nick Papanikolaou (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Dipl.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Patras, Patras, Greece, in 1998 and 2002, respectively.
Prior to his academic career, he had been working for several years in the Hellenic Electric Energy Industry—involved with major European transmission and generation projects. He is currently a Full Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace, Xanthi, Greece. His research interests include power electronics, renewable energy exploitation, distributed generation, energy saving, electric vehicles, and power quality improvement.
Dr. Papanikolaou is a Member of CIGRE and the Technical Chamber of Greece.
