Current role: Scientific database biocurator (Gene Ontology, IntAct & Complex Portal). Specialist research areas: Biocuration using Gene Ontology and annotation of molecular interactions of genes involved or suspected to be involved in cardiovascular disease risk. Databases: Protein2GO, QuickGO, IntAct, UniProt, HGNC, NCBI (mostly pubmed and gene), Complex Portal, RNAcentral, Reactome and Ensembl. Current and previous work experience: Academia, the NHS and the Pharmaceutical Industry. Qualifications: PhD in Cancer Drug Discovery using X-ray crystallographic and molecular simulation techniques, MSc in Drug Discovery and a BSc in Pharmacy. Teaching: Lecturing on the UCL Genetics of Human Disease masters degree. Funding: British Heart Foundation Collaborations: European Bioinformatics Instiute (EBI) Specialist Software: Cytoscape/GOlorize/BinGO/ClueGO. Additional interests: PADI qualified open water diver.
