Myrna Medlej-Hashim

Myrna Medlej-Hashim received a PhD in “Biology-Health” (Molecular Genetics) from the University of Montpellier II (France), after graduating with a Master degree in Physiology from the American University of Beirut. She also obtained a University Diploma (DU) in Medical Ethics from the Saint Joseph University in Beirut. She is currently a Professor in the Life and Earth Sciences department at the Faculty of Sciences of the Lebanese University. She is responsible for the “Histology, cellular and molecular biology and Immunology” laboratory, associated to the doctoral school of sciences and technology at the Lebanese University, and a member of the “Cellular and Molecular Physiopathologies” research team. Her main work focused on molecular genetics and physiopathology of the autoinflammatory disease Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) in the Middle East region, namely Lebanon, Jordan and Syria. Her publications also discuss ethical issues.
