I work at the Institute of Tropical Medicine ¨Pedro Kouri´ in the National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and others respiratory virus. as National Reference Laboratory of Respiratory virus the main functions of our lab includes: Virological Surveillance of Acute Respiratory Infection: • Diagnosis, surveillance and research on influenza and other respiratory viruses such as HRSV, HMPV, AdV, HPIV 1-4, HBoV, HCoV, HRV, EV using multiplex Real Time PCR. • Reference Laboratory of a national network of 15 laboratories. • Influenza surveillance in the community and hospitalized patients. • Genetic characterization of influenza viruses, HRSV and EV-68 circulating. • Testing of antiviral resistance.
