Sufyan Beg, M.M.

M. M. Sufyan Beg (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Tech. degree in electronics from Aligarh Muslim University, India, in 1992, the M.Tech. degree in microelectronics from the IIT Kanpur, India, in 1994, and the Ph.D. degree in the area of computer technology from the IIT Delhi, India, in 2004. From November 2005 to October 2006, he visited the University of California at Berkeley, USA, as a BT Fellow. He worked as a Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University), New Delhi, from March 2007 to January 2014. Over there, he also worked as the Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, from February 2008 to February 2011. Since January 2014, he has been a Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering, Aligarh Muslim University. Since August 2015, he has been working as the Principal of the Z. H. College of Engineering and Technology. He has been an invited lecturer at many places in the USA, U.K., Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and India. He has published a book, 28 book chapters, and over 165 research articles on a wide range of topics in web mining and soft computing. His current research interests include parallel and distributed processing, soft computing, question answering systems, natural language processing, and web mining and searching.
