I am an educational psychologist and associate professor at the University of Northern Colorado. My research focuses onhow student attitudes about themselves and learning impacts their choices, interests, and outcomes. I typically study this through the lense of math anxiety. I developed and published the Children's Anxiety in Math Scale, and research this construct, along with self-efficacy and teacher influences in elementary children and adult learners. I also serve as a statistical and assessment consultant to researchers in a variety of fields including nutrition, fashion merchandising, and geoscience. My main teaching areas are testing/assessment, cognition and instruction, and learning.
