He holds a PhD degree in Plant Biotechnology from National Higher School of Agronomy (Algeria) in collaboration with Montpellier SupAgro (France). He is Professor in agro-physiology and microbiology of symbiosis at the University of Khemis Miliana (Algeria). My main research interests are in the general field of plant science, particularly plant-microbe interactions with specific focus on plant belowground mechanisms likely responsible for nutrient use efficiency and abiotic stress tolerance. The physiological, biochemical and molecular aspects that regulate biological nitrogen fixation in legumes are investigated, taking into account the structure-function of the nodule and the interaction between symbionts. I conduct interdisciplinary research encompassing investigations on i) crop physiology, mineral nutrient use efficiency and dynamics from the rhizosphere interface to plant aboveground ii) beneficial plant-microbe interactions with focus on P and N nutrition and iii) the evaluation their potential use as candidate bio-inoculants for a better nutrient use and stress tolerance.
