My main interest is online continual representation learning. My research objective is developing general and constructive mechanisms for continually learning agents. I focus on developing algorithms that allow for continual learning that overcome catastrophic forgetting and decaying plasticity problems. Specifically, I develop algorithms that can protect and remove features or connections based on their utilities.
