Mmantsae Diale

Dr. Pannan I. Kyesmen is a researcher, working in the field of materials development for energy applications. His research interest lies in the development of suitable materials for solar fuels production and other photocatalytic applications. He recently concluded a 2-year postdoctoral research in April 2023, in the Clean and Green Energy Research group of the Department of Physics, University of Pretoria, South Africa. He had previously worked as a system analyst in the Directorate of ICT, Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Nigeria, from July 2012 to March 2018, before proceeding to South Africa for his PhD program. He obtained his PhD in physics at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, in May 2021, after conducting extensive research on hematite-based thin films for solar hydrogen production. His MSc degree was in Engineering Physics, obtained at the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Nigeria, where he fabricated an arc discharge system for the synthesis of fullerenes for energy applications, and graduated in July 2016 with distinction. His honours degree was obtained in Physics Electronics at the Federal University of Technology Minna, Nigeria, where he graduated in April 2010 with an 84% grade point average. Currently, Dr. Pannan doubles as a Research Assistant and a Senior System Analyst in the Department of Physics and the Directorate of ICT respectively, of the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Nigeria. He is actively seeking a more permanent research and teaching role in a reputable institution.
