Mirjana Povic works as an assistant professor at the Ethiopian Space Science and Technology Institute. She is also an associate researcher at the Instituto de Astrofisica de Andalucia in Spain, and an honorary lecturer at Mbarara University of Science and Technology in Uganda. She does research in Extragalactic Astronomy, being mainly focused on nuclear activity in galaxies. Over more than 10 years, she worked on development in education, astronomy, and science in Africa.
