Mircea Hulea received the Graduation degree from the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computer Engineering, Technical University Gheorghe Asachi of Iasi, Iasi, Romania, in 2003, and one year later, in 2004, he received the M. Sc. degree in applications of advanced computing architectures at the same University with excellent results. In 2008, he received the Dr. Sci. degree in Automatic Control at the Technical University Gheorghe Asachi of Iasi. During his preparation for the Ph.D. degree in the field of hardware implementation of spiking neural networks, he benefited for one year from a research grant for Ph.D. students funded by Romanian Government and from a three months Erasmus-Socrates scholarship at the University of Sheffield, U. K. Currently, he is a Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computer Engineering, Technical University Gheorghe Asachi of Iasi. Between June 2010 and March 2013, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Technical University Gheorghe Asachi of Iasi when he benefitted for two months, in 2011, from a postdoctoral research stage at the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Information Sciences, at Northumbria University, Newcastle, U. K. At Northumbria University he was implied in a research team for investigating the effects of air turbulence on laser beams propagation.
