Michael Mertens

Michael Mertens studied physics and astronomy at the University of Bonn, Germany, and the University of Victoria, BC, Canada. He received his Dipl.-Phy. (M.S.) degree in 2006 and after graduation, he started working at the Physics Institute of the University of Bonn in the Experimental Physics Department. Since 2007, he has been with the Department Sensor Data and Information Fusion (SDF) at Fraunhofer FKIE. His research interests are focused on aspects of tracking and data fusion, in particular, ground target tracking with mono-and bistatic airborne ground-moving target indication radar and the incorporation of context and attribute information. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Bonn in early 2015.
