Michael Johnston

Michael Johnston (Johnston@research.att.com) has been at the forefront of the development of natural multimodal interfaces for the last 14 years. He has more than 19 years of experience in speech and language technology, working at AT&T Labs, Apple Computer, Hewlett Packard, Brandeis University, and Oregon Graduate Institute. He is currently responsible for AT&T's program of research in advanced multimodal interfaces, holds ten U.S. patents, published more than 46 papers, and currently serves as editor and chair for the World Wide Web consortium's Extensible Multimodal Annotation (EMMA) specification.
