von Fricken Michael E

Dr. von Fricken received his MPH in Epidemiology and his PhD in Environmental and Global Health from University of Florida. Much of his work focuses on infectious tropical diseases, specifically vector borne disease. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship at Duke University Division of Infectious Disease, conducting surveillance on Tick-borne disease in Mongolia, Dr. von Fricken moved back to the United States where he worked as a professor at George Mason University, from 2016 to 2023. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Environmental and Global Health at University of Florida and serves as the Director of the One Health Center of Excellence.
