Genomes tell us much about the brain and behavior. In my research, I use genetics and genomics on diverse mouse populations and diverse species to discover new biology about the brain systems that control motivated and social behaviors. I am a research scientist at the Jackson Laboratory of Mammalian Genetics in the Chesler Lab and Center for Systems Neurogenetics of Addiction. I specialize in applying computational and comparative approaches to behavioral, genetics, and genomics data. I currently work with genetically diverse mouse populations. My goal is to find new biology that can help treat psychiatric disorders like autism and drug addiction. My colleagues and I recently wrote a review of genetically diverse mouse populations and their applications.
