Mike does research in Functional Anatomy, Ecology and Marine Biology. His major projects include 'Project Manta', 'GenoJaws' (using DNA from shark jaws to explore the effects of human fishing on global shark populations), and 'Leaf to Reef' (Lady Elliot Island Ecology). Other research topics include bird claw-, and marsupial hind limb mechanics, reproductive biology of electric rays.
