Our recent studies on epidermolysis bullosa simplex with mottled pigmentation (EBS-MP) illustrated abnormal accumulation of melanosomes in surrounding keratinocytes in electron microscopic analysis which indicated keratinocytes could be an interesting target for hereditary pigmentary disorders investigation. The specific aim of this study is to investigate how genetic abnormality in keratinocytes causes pigmentary skin disorders.
