President of Sociedade Brasileira de Paleontologia (2013-2017), voting member of the Subcommission on Triassic Stratigraphy, part of the 'advisory board' of Revista Brasileira de Paleontologia, Journal of Paleontology, PLoS One, and Ameghiniana (journal of the Asociación Paleontológica Argentina). Research interest focused on the phylogeny and stratigraphic correlation of Mesozoic 'reptiles', especially dinosaurs, rhynchosaurs, crocodyles, and turtles. Since 2001 he is a staff member (Geology and Palaeontology lecturer) of the Biology Department, Universidade de São Paulo (USP), Ribeirão Preto-SP.
