Matthew J. Witt

Matthew Witt is an Associate Professor at the University of Exeter; he is a marine scientist and conservation biologist. His research focuses on animal habitat-use and human-wildlife conflict. He uses a variety of technologies to help this research, including satellite tracking and remote deployable video systems. His research relies upon spatial ecology and data visualisation to improve our capacity to manage human activities at sea. He has worked on a range of highly migratory marine species in the Atlantic Ocean, including basking sharks, leatherback turtles and the Atlantic bluefin tuna.
