My research is focused on in the intercellular spread of neuroinvasive viruses. Neuroinvasive viruses have the capacity to infect the cells of the nervous system, using the connections between neurons to evade host responses and disseminate within the host. Our current projects interrogate how intercellular spread triggers innate antiviral responses and influence viral pathogenesis.
