Career Trajectory
Bio
Mather A Khan currently works at the Division of Plant Sciences, University of Missouri. Mather believes that research in plant biology has the potential to solve many of the global problems, including but not limited to food security, climate change, medicines/therapy for emerging diseases, and energy crisis.
Understanding the fundamentals of growth and development of plants is of the utmost importance in order to meet the global demands for food. Uptake and distribution of nutrients and water from the soil and within the plant tissues is a dynamic process driven by root uptake transporters.
