Masashi Furukawa received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Hokkaido, Sapporo, Japan. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Information Technology Integration, Asahikawa National College of Technology, Asahikawa, Japan. During the 1970s, he was engaged in the development of 3-D CAD/CAM systems. He was a Research Associate partcipating in the Cornell Injection Molding Project in 1976–1977 and in the Computational Geometry Project of the University of East Anglia in 1981–1982. His current interests are machine learning and GAs.
