We are developing long-acting (LA) drug formulations for prevention and treatment of HIV and tuberculosis that have a potential to improve adherence to drug regimen. Our formulations contain biodegradable polymer, drug, and biocompatible solvent. They are injectable and solidify after subcutaneous injection into an implant. Drug release from the implant is driven by diffusion and degradation of polymer. We are using humanized mice models to evaluate efficacy of LA anti-HIV drugs.
