My research is dedicated to the functional ecology and management of rivers and lake shores, including river hydrodynamics, sediments, hydropower, inputs, retention and metabolism of nutrients and organic matter in running waters, self-purification capacity of rivers, monitoring and assessment of river and lakes, EU Water Framework Directive, Integrative management of lakes, rivers and floodplains, socio-ecology, with a recent focus on ecosystem services provided by river corridors.
