Martin Quack has received the Nernst-​Haber-Bodenstein prize (1982), the Otto Klung prize of the Free University of Berlin (1984) and the Otto Bayer prize (1991). He has been Hinshelwood lecturer and Christensen fellow (Oxford 1988) and was elected Fellow of the American Physical Society in 1990. He is an elected member of the Leopoldina (since 1998) and of the Berlin Brandenburgische (formerly Prussian) Academy of Sciences. In 2002 he received the Paracelsus Prize of the Swiss Chemical Society. He is a member of the Swiss National Research Council (Nationaler Forschungsrat) of the Swiss National Science Foundation. In 2009 he received an honorary doctorate (Dr. rer. nat. h.c.) from Goettingen University.
