I am a Lecturer and Researcher in Animal Behaviour and Aquatic Biology at the Marine and Freshwater Research Centre, and the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment, Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. I am joint Programme Chair for the MSc in Conservation Behaviour at Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. My research interests include: Animal contest behaviour; Animal communication; The application of behavioural concepts to wildlife conservation; The ecology of freshwater species, particularly macroinvertebrates; The conservation of Irish invertebrates, particularly butterflies; Statistical techniques used in ecological research.
