Mark W. Beranek

M. W. Beranek (SM'96) received the B.S. degree in chemistry from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, in 1980, the A.S. certificate in electronics from Harper College, Palatine, IL, in 1984, and the B.S. degree in technology and management from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1995. He is currently a consultant. He was Principal Engineer at Boeing Phantom Works, Seattle, WA, where he was primarily involved in optoelectronic component design, fabrication, packaging, and manufacturing R&D for avionics/aerospace fiber-optic network applications. He has also held technical staff positions working primarily in the broad areas of fiber-optics and laser materials processing at Lucent Technologies Optoelectronics Center, Eaton Corp. R&D Center, and Gould Research Center. Mr. Beranek is a member of the IEEE CPMT Society and LEOS.
