My group is working on the:1) molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying dendritic spine plasticity in cortex and in hippocampus in physiological and in pathological conditions (Alzheimer’s disease, autism and other neurological diseases; and 2) the role of glia (microglia and astrocytes) in the formation of synaptic contacts, axonal growth, neurogenesis, neoplastic growth and apoptosis.
