Born in Naples, Italy November 8, 1960 Dr. Marina Di Domenico is a Full Professor of Laboratory Medical Technical Science in the Department of Precision Medicine at the University of Campania “L. Vanvitelli” in Naples (Italy). She is also an Adjunct Professor at Temple University in Philadelphia PA, USA. Dr. Marina Di Domenico has many scientific collaborations with national and international universities focused on the integration between the molecular investigations and the effective diagnostic and therapeutic applications resulting from the transfer of the experimental results obtained. Her research activity has developed into two different main areas that concern: • Clinical use of prognostics and diagnostics markers and development of innovative diagnostic strategies against cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other chronic illnesses, which plays a key role in controlling cell growth and transformation development, in particular for hormone-refractory prostate cancer and circulating tumor cells in lung cancer. • Identification of epigenetic regulators of multiple genes that can be considered a common event in human oral cancer cell line and identification of specific molecular mechanisms related to critical regulators of cancer cell adhesion and motility.
