Dean of the School of Social Sciences of Mary College of Literature. Marie is the principal researcher of the Center for Gender and Domestic Violence Prevention and the Center for Immigration and Inclusion in monash. Mary led the major research, including the National Research on the Safety and Security of Immigrant and Refugee Women: Immigrant and Refugee Women for Change, which was conducted in cooperation with the Harmony Alliance. Marie is a criminologist whose work focuses on human trafficking and slavery-like practices, irregular & temporary migrant labour exploitation, and the intersections of temporary migration and family violence: collectively her work interrogates the interconnections between migration, labour and border regulation, exploitation and abuse Marie's research focuses on challenging the preconceived notions of safety, security and the role of laws and regulations that are prevalent in our legal system and the wider community.
