Maria M Diehl currently works in the Department of Psychological Sciences, at Kansas State University. She is an Assistant Professor. Her most recent publication is 'Toward an Integrative Perspective on the Neural Mechanisms Underlying Persistent Maladaptive Behaviors'. Her post-doctoral research in the laboratory of Dr. Gregory J. Quirk in the departments of Psychiatry and Neurobiology & Anatomy at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine focused on understanding the neural circuits of fear and avoidance using single unit recordings and optogenetic approaches. She received her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Denstistry, working with Dr. Lizabeth M. Romanski on multisensory integration of faces and voices in the ventral prefrontal cortex.
