Maria Fresia

Maria Fresia received the Laurea degree in communication engineering and the Ph.D. degree in electronic and computer engineering from the University of Genoa, Genoa, Italy, in 2002 and 2006, respectively. She held Research Associate positions with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), Louvain la Neuve, Belgium, during September 2006-September 2007, and with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, from October 2007–September 2009. From October 2009 to January 2011, she was a Senior Staff Engineer with Infineon Technologies, AG. In February 2011, she joined Intel Mobile Communications, Munich, Germany, as a Senior Staff Engineer. Her research interests include data compression, joint source-channel coding, and distributed source coding.
