Marcio Luis Ferreira Nascimento

Marcio L. F. Nascimento was born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1973. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in physics from the University of São Paulo, São Paulo, in 1997 and 2000, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in materials science and engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos, São Paulo, in 2004. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Chemical Engineering Department, Federal University of Bahia, Brazil, since 2009. He is the author of two books, more than hundred articles and six patents. His research interests include the development of new materials as special glasses, multivariate analysis, innovation, machine learning, big data, history of sciences, and in particular mathematics for laymen. Dr. Nascimento is a member of the Physical and Materials Research Brazilian Societies as well as the Polytechnic Institute of Bahia, the oldest Brazilian Engineering Society, founded in 1896.
