Marcin Budka

Marcin Budka received the dual M.Sc./B.Sc. degree in finance and banking from the Katowice University of Economics, Katowice, Poland, in 2003, the B.Sc. degree in computer science from the University of Silesia, Katowice, in 2005, and the Ph.D. degree in computational intelligence from Bournemouth University, Poole, U.K., in 2010. He is currently a Professor of Data Science with the Faculty of Science and Technology, Bournemouth University, and acts as the Head of Research with the Department of Computing and Informatics. His research interests lie in a broadly understood area of machine learning and data science, with a particular focus on practical applications. Throughout his career, he was involved in a number of research projects with industry, with a particular focus on tangible impact and societally useful innovation.
