Bio
Marcelo Zambra was born in Santiago, Chile, on March 29, 1961. He received the B.Sc. degree in physics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and the D.E.A. and Docteur en Science degrees from the Laboratoire de Physique des Collisions Atomiques, Université Catolique de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, in 1986, 1988, and 1992, respectively.
Between 1993 and 1994, he performed postdoctoral research at the Laboratory of Optics and Plasma Physics, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Since 1995, he has been with the Comisión Chilena de Energía Nuclear, Santiago, Chile, where he was a cofounder of the Plasma Physics and Plasma Technology Group. His main research interest are the phenomena of ionization processes in transient discharges; generation, extraction, and transport of ion and electron beams; and X-ray and neutron images from transient electrical discharges.
