Maria Velasco-Estevez

My research is focused on the study of mechanoreceptors in the CNS and immune system, and their role in cancer. I am eager to study how cells sense and respond to different mechanical stimuli, and how it can affect processes such as inflammation, activation and migration. My academic background comprises a BSc in Biochemistry, an MSc in Biomedical Sciences and a PhD in Physiology by Trinity College Dublin. I am currently an MSCA fellow in CNIO (Spain) working on mechanoreception of cancer.
