He has published 4 books and ~300 papers in peer-reviewed conference proceedings and journals and has given tutorial and keynote talks at international conferences. His research interests lie in audio and acoustic signal processing where he has worked on topics such as microphone arrays, noise reduction, signal modeling, speech analysis, and spatial audio. Dr. Christensen’s work has been recognized both nationally and internationally. He has received several awards for his work, including IEEE best paper awards, the Spar Nord Foundation’s Research Prize, a Danish Independent Research Council Young Researcher’s Award, the Statoil Prize, and the EURASIP Early Career Award. He has received major grants from Independent Research Fund Denmark, the Villum Foundation, and Innovation Fund Denmark. He is active in IEEE and EURASIP, where he has served in various capacities over the years. Currently, he serves as Editor-in-Chief of EURASIP Journal on Audio, Speech, and Music Processing and as Chairman of the EURASIP Acoustic, Speech, and Music Processing TAC. He is Senior Member of IEEE, Member of EURASIP, Fellow of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences, and a Villum Fellow.
