Marcelo Rozenberg

Born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 1963. I obtained my Licenciatura in Physics at the Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1989, and my Ph.D. at Rutgers University in 1994 under the supervision of Gabi Kotliar. From 1994 to 1998, I was a postdoc at Ecole Normale Superieure (Paris) and the ILL (Grenoble). In 1998 was appointed professor in Condensed Matter Physics at the Physics Department of Universidad de Buenos Aires and researcher of the CONICET of Argentina. Then, returned back to France in 2003 and was visiting professor at Ecole Polytechnique. One year later, in 2004 I was appointed Director of Research of CNRS. I currently work at the Laboratoire de Physique des Solides, of the Université Paris - Saclay, in Orsay. In 2021 I was appointed Adjunct Professor at the Physics Department of the University of California San Diego. Also taught at the University of Tokyo, the IISc in Bangalore and the University of California (San Diego). Wrote the book "Physics in the Information Age" (La Física y la Edad de la Información) to explain what is modern Condensed Matter Physics to high-school students. Was recently honored with the 2018 Grand Prix "Emilie du Chatelet" of the French Physical Society.
