Then, in 2001 he joined Seagate Technology, and since then he took technical and managerial roles on the design of future read-channel architecture alternatives, efficient methods for component screening and design feedback using the most recent read-channel architectures, and evaluating new technologies from system design perspective. Dr Erden is the Signal Processing and Channels Group leader of Information Storage Industry Consortium (INSIC) Extremely High Density Recording (EHDR) Program, and is also taking active roles within Data Storage Community and IEEE Organization (treasurer of the IEEE ComSoc Technical Committee on Data Storage, co-chair for Symposium on Selected Areas in Communications, GLOBECOM 2009, and Technical Program Committee member for various conferences). Dr. Erden holds 29 patent applications (12 issued, 12 published, and five pending), and is the author of three book chapters, 28 refereed journal papers, 38 conference abstracts and papers, and more than 20 internal reports on magnetic recording, signal processing, and communication theory.
