Marcos A Munoz

Marcos Muñoz is a veterinarian of the Universidad de Concepción and Diploma in Dairy Production of the same University. He got his Ph.D. in Animal Science at Cornell University, USA. In 2017 Marcos joined the Boards of Directors of the National Mastitis Council (NMC). In the National Mastitis Council he also contributes in both the Quality Milk Monitoring Committee and the Research Committee. In Latin America, Marcos collaborates in mastitis research with different countries. He was one of the founders and past president of the Latin American Mastitis Research Network (RELIM). In Chile, Marcos is an Associate Professor of the College of Veterinary Sciences of Universidad de Concepción and participates as udder health expert at the Animal Health National Committee of the Chilean Dairy Consortium and the International Dairy Federation (IDF/FIL). Marcos’ recent research has focused in both the study of virulence factors of mastitis pathogens and the role of biofilms in the epidemiology of mastitis and milk quality. His long term commitment has been the development of on-farm preventive measures for the control of bovine mastitis to meet current standards of dairy production systems.
