My primary research interest is to apply and develop appropriate statistical models to decipher complicated and massive data collected to solve challenging public health problems. In particular, I have been working in the field of translating evidence-based diabetes prevention and management interventions into large-scale public health practice among Native Americans and found many challenging and interesting problems while analyzing this type of data. In the past, I have provided statistical leadership and/or consulting to multiple federally funded studies focusing on reducing health disparities by implementing and evaluating community-based chronic disease prevention interventions designed for minority populations. My current research focuses on conducting multilevel data analysis and latent variable modelling of those intervention projects.
