Lyudmila Ivleva

Liudmila I. Ivleva received the specialist degree (engineer in the field of chemical technology) from the D. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology, Moscow, Russia, in 1966, and the Ph.D. degree in chemistry from the D. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology, in 1979, for research on crystals of K-W bronze structure, and the Sc.D. degree in the field of technical sciences from the Institute for Physics and Power Engineering, Obninsk, Russia, in 2007. She is currently a Chief Researcher with the Laboratory “Nonlinear Materials,” A. M. Prokhorov General Physics Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia. From 1967 to 1969, she was a Research Scientist with the IREA Institute of Chemical Reactants and Pure Substances, Moscow. From 1969 to 1983, she was a Research Scientist and a Senior Research Scientist with the P. N. Lebedev Physical Institute Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union, Moscow. Her initial work was in the field of crystal growth technology, contributing to various techniques and classes of materials. Since 1983, she has been with the A. M. Prokhorov General Physics Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, as the Head of Laboratory, the Chief Researcher. A new technique for profiled crystal growth of complex oxides was developed at her laboratory. She has coauthored more than 200 articles published in national and international journals. Her current research interests include studying crystallization processes and investigations of properties of nonlinear (photorefractive crystals and Raman media) and laser materials. Dr. Ivleva is a member of the dissertation councils at RHTU and IOF RAN and also a member of OSA.
