Lucas Platero researches in the intersections of gender and sexuality in contemporary Spain. Their current project is 'Impactos psicosociales en poblacion LGTBQA+ durante el estado de alerta por COVID-19 en Espana' (Psychosocial impact on LGTBQA+ people during the State of Alarm due to COVID-19 in Spain). Their research career has resulted in the publication of 52 scientific articles, 26 of which were published in JCR and SCOPUS journals
