The researcher has experience in Chemistry, focusing on Organic Synthesis, acting on the following subjects: Synthesis of Heterocycles from Morita-Baylis-Hillman Adducts; Transition-Metal Catalyzed Organic Reactions and DFT Calculations of NMR Parameters (Coupling Constants and Chemical Shift). He is interested in the chemistry of the Morita-Baylis-Hillman reaction, mainly in the development of an asymmetric version for it, in order to broaden its application in the total synthesis of natural products and drugs; it is also part of his interests the application of DFT NMR calculations in order to predict the relative configuration of natural products and to differentiate among diastereomers, and the chemistry of organofluorinated compounds, mainly new methods to synthesize them and their ability to participate in non-covalent interactions.
He worked as an Undergraduate Researcher in the Laboratory of Synthesis of Natural Products and Drugs at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP - Campinas-SP, Brazil), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Fernando Antônio Santos Coelho (08/2012-07/2016), obtained his Master's Degree (08/2016-08/2018) at the same laboratory. He is currently doing his PhD under the supervision of Dr. Fernando Antonio Santos Coelho and co-supervision of Dr. Rodrigo Antonio Cormanich (08/2018-present). During his PhD, the researcher did an internship at the University of Barcelona (UB - Barcelona, Spain) under the supervision of Dr. Albert Moyano (02/2020-04/2020).
