Prof. Lorenzo Tei received the Laurea degree in Chemistry from the University of Florence in 1996 and the PhD in Chemistry (2001) at the University of Nottingham (UK) (Supervisor: Prof. M. Schröder). After having held the postdoctoral positions at the University of Cagliari (with Prof. V. Lippolis) and Turin (with Profs. S. Aime and G. Camussi), in September 2006 he was appointed Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry at the Department of Scienze e Innovazione Tecnologica, Università del Piemonte Orientale, Alessandria. From December 2021, he is Full Professor at the same university. From January 2015, he spent 15 months as Alexander Von Humboldt Fellow for Experienced Researchers at Klinikum Rechts der Isar, Technical University Munich with Prof. M. Schwaiger. Research interests: i) synthesis and characterization of derivatives of polyaminocarboxylic ligands to be used for the preparation of Gd(III) or Mn(II) based MRI probes; ii) synthesis of chelators for PET radioisotopes (68Ga, 89Zr or Al18F); iii) conjugation of the imaging reporters for Molecular Imaging applications to proteins, antibodies and lipidic or inorganic nanoparticles. Author of 145 peer-reviewed publications (H-index=33; ca 5500 citations), 7 patents and 2 book chapters on Molecular Imaging and Contrast enhancing agents. 28 oral and several poster presentations at international and national conferences; invited to take seminars in foreign universities: Nottingham (2011), London (2012), Munich (2013), Munich (2015), Tübingen (2015); teacher of Ligand synthesis and functionalization, Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis and Bioconjugation techniques for the "European Master in Molecular Imaging and for the Technological Training Platform 2 of EMIL “Imaging Probes Preparation” (5 editions 2005-2009).
