I am currently working at Stefan Wanke's Lab, Institute for Botany, University of Technology Dresden. My main project at the moment deals with predicitve breeding for wine quality. The detection and characterization of genetic quality markers for wine quality is done using a “Modified Genotyping by Sequencing” (GBS) approach. Since the genome of Vitis vinifera contains at least 70 % of repetitive DNA, only a small fraction of the genome is usable for identifying wine quality markers.
